Dyan Ditolla Grey

Dyan Ditolla Grey has been hooked on creating art and design that communicates emotions visually, from the time she could first doodle.

Through her earth sculpture, Dyan gives life to her observations of the human soul. To come upon these sculptures is to join this agent provocateur as she climbs into the mountainsides, and uses the earth and terrain as her medium. The results are stirring and sensual - a body of figurative work, carved out of the earth's simple and natural formations that depict the complexities of the human condition.

Our culture's wake up call to "green" living provides an ironic yet poignant backdrop in which to discover Dyan's sculpture in outdoor mountain settings. She purposely uses this relevant juxtaposition -- imprinting themes of human emotional destruction within the earth and the very environment that must be saved.

Grey's foray into metal sculpture is more abstract in form, and conveys phases of essential human connection and cardinal relationship, while coolly blurring gender.

The artist and designer has recently transitioned into developing a line of sleek, futuristic furniture, made of architectural materials including steel, glass and exotic woods. The line is designed for urban modern living. She is simultaneously conceiving a contemporary collection of resin surfaces and floor tiles that will revolutionize our concept of what we can walk on.

Grey's work as an interior designer draws from all her artistic approaches and sensibilities.

Dyan resides and works in New York City. She is happiest when she can view the world from the POV of sitting atop the sharpest point of a tall, thin needle providing her the clearest and most unobstructed 360 degree views of life, as inspiration.
